Effective De-escalation in Crises
The demand for skills to de-escalate crisis situations has never been greater. Individuals and agencies are being held accountable for this important skill set. We will review recent lessons learned about effective strategies to manage high stress or high risk situations in our work.
Learning objectives:
- Participants will learn 3 principles of effective de-escalation
- Participants will discuss the need for effective de-escalation skills in today’s work environment
- Participants will review recent advances in stress research that can help us manage our reactions to high stress situations
